As the de facto ambassador for Alessandro Michele’s Gucci, the 45-year-old turned up the volume in a look that’s as much Austin Powers as it is highland fling. The pussybow shirt – a move more commonly flexed by Melania Trump – featured an eye-watering print that’s close to a living embodiment of a sixties acid trip. Then consider the suit. Despite print clashes edging their way into the collective consciousness, the table cloth texture, peak lapels and frankly excessive blue stripe border on your childhood fancy dress box. But you know what the weirdest thing is? He kind of makes it work. You’ve got to applaud Leto for having the sheer cojones to wear this kind of thing on the red carpet. You could never call him boring. So credit where credit is due: you’re a braver man than us, Jared.
