The last time we saw Nike and Stone Island together was during a televised brawl at the 2006 World Cup. Needless to say, the announcement of a collaboration between the two brands raised a few eyebrows, all of which were promptly dispelled when we got a look at the new Sock Dart.
Stone Island has added several new features to the popular kicks. As well as marking the first time the Sock Dart has been produced in a mid cut, it has also been made water-resistant thanks to a silicon print on the upper. Elsewhere, a breathable mesh maintains the sneaker’s signature flexibility, aided by a midfoot adjustable strap for stability.
There’s also phrases like ‘elastic engineered zonal silicone’ and ‘hyper-stretch breathable sandwich’, which is sneakerspeak for ‘very, very good’ – and we couldn’t agree more. Especially when you look at the three colourways on offer.
