Canali Low Top Sneakers
Luxury Italian design house Canali might be best known for crafting exquisite suits – something the brand has been doing since 1934 – but it puts all of that craftsmanship into its footwear too. Made in Italy, these low-tops are made from buttery-soft calfskin and are far too smart to work up a sweat in.
Soulland Loke T-shirt
Florals? For spring? Yes, we know, a floral print might not be the most out-there idea, but sometimes things become classics because they work. Besides, based on an original watercolour painting by US artist Charlie Roberts, if you’re seen in this tee, you’ll look anything but the wilting wallflower.
Drôle de Monsieur Shaded Anorak
Call us pessimists if you like but while we’re bathing in sunshine we’re also mentally preparing for a potential onslaught of rain by eyeing up cool summery anoraks, like this one from French streetwear brand Drôle de Monsieur. Nothing better for styling out a downpour.
H&M Conscious Collection Short-Sleeved Shirt
As London’s V&A museum shines a spotlight on the sometimes fractious relationship between the fashion industry and the natural world with its latest exhibition, Fashioned from Nature, it’s had us looking a little harder at the labels inside our wardrobes, too. Happily shopping mindfully doesn’t mean wearing hemp anymore, with even fast fashion’s H&M offering a conscious collection that includes trend-ticking styles like this short-sleeved print shirt.
Moscot Miltzen Round-Frame Horn-Effect Sunglasses
Hurrah! It’s finally bright enough outside to wear your sunglasses without looking like an idiot. Make the most of the good weather and invest in a classic pair that will see you through the summer – and beyond – in style. We recommend taking a look at New York eyewear brand Moscot, which has been whipping up sleek frames since 1915.
Zara Coloured Flowing Shirt
Make like Big Bird and throw on plenty of this season’s most wearable statement hue, yellow. If you’ve been keeping it minimalist in various shades of grey for the past couple of years, this shirt from Spanish high-street hero Zara is an easy way of experimenting with colour without making your wallet weep.
Maison Kitsuné Ader Error Baseball Cap
Achingly cool French music and fashion brand Maison Kitsune has hopped into bed with an anonymous design collective from Seoul, Ader Error. The 15-piece genderless collection includes all kinds of great sportswear-inspired pieces, the simplest being this logo cap.
Mr Porter x Prada Slim Fit Gingham Trousers
Dolce & Gabbana, Viktor & Rolf, and now the latest great double act in fashion: luxury e-tailer Mr Porter and fashion house Prada. The new collection is Prada’s first menswear exclusive with an online retailer and has a nostalgic bowling theme so expect plenty of striped Cuban collar shirts and satin bombers. However, it was these gingham trousers that particularly caught our eye (we think they would look great with a crisp white tee and a pair of black loafers).
Opening Ceremony x Rains Leopard Tote Bag
The problem with backpacks is you can never see the admiring glances when you’re carrying one. No such problem with the tote. Carry it at the front or swing it all about and people are sure to cast a look, especially when it’s a psychedelic red leopard print collab between Scandinavian rainwear minimalists Rains and New York boutique gone global, Opening Ceremony.
Gillette Fusion ProGlide Chrome Razor
The world of razors has come a long way since the throwaway Bic your old man used to show you how to carve away tufts of shaving cream and bum fluff. Exhibit A is this chrome handled version of the Gillette Fusion ProGlide – a stylish beauty you certainly won’t be wanting to throw away, with FlexBall technology to snag any hard to reach hairs.
Percival Bonsai Tree Sweatshirt
Bonsai is the Japanese art of cultivating small trees to inspire a sense of calm within. For that reason, we highly recommend having a bonsai tree in your home – but it’s a bit odd to hit the pub with mini shrubbery in tow. Instead, pop on this fetching sweater from indie menswear brand Percival and keep an eye on the little one whenever you’re out and about.
Smythson The Boss Wafer Notebook
Who’s the boss? You’re the boss. Because it says so on your striking red lambskin notebook from luxury stationers Smythson of Bond Street. And while you don’t need to go shouting it out at random people in the street, you should be letting everyone in the boardroom know where they stand.
Fila x Weekday Monza Shorts
Adding to its impressive roster of collaborators, Italian sportswear label Fila has teamed up with affordable-yet-utterly-great Swedish brand Weekday for a collection that it’s dubbing ‘Strength in Unity’. Fully functional, with all kinds of technical details like wind resistance and breathability, Weekday has added a fashion forward twist to Fila’s heritage sports aesthetic. The result might even make you want to hit the gym.
Pantharella Tropical Leaves Socks
With maximalism taking the menswear spotlight once again, statement socks are cool again. We recommend these tropical delights from premium sock brand Pantharella, which can be paired effortlessly with all of you existing blue trousers and denim.
FoR Bourn Printed Riviera Shirt
The Arcadia group, home to Topman and Burton, has launched FoR – a new Scandi-inspired menswear label – this week. The debut collection features a number of clean, minimalist designs with a soft, contemporary silhouette. So trust us to pick out the most ostentatious piece of the bunch, this monochrome floral semi-sheer shirt. In our defence, the pattern is still understated, not too busy and would look ace under a black suit.
Adidas District L1 Watch
With the trend for streetwear not going anywhere, a Patek Philippe on your wrist isn’t going to work with those chunky Stan Smiths. So make like Run DMC and get Adidas all over, especially when it’s a stylish minimalist timepiece with just the right amount of gold against the black. Even if you’re lucky enough to own a Patek, it’s a good rotation watch to have on your bench.
Cheap Monday Pro Shirt
The shacket, or overshirt to those outside of fashion marketing, is defined by its natural materials and dual chest pockets. They are very useful when you have to decide whether or not to brave the weather during the transition from winter to summer. Ideally you want clean lines, just like this Pro Shirt by Cheap Monday, with patches mixing the look up for some rock and roll chic.
Reiss Rocco Red Jumper
Remember that dress no one could decide the colour of doing the rounds on social media a couple of years ago? Well, we’re feeling a bit of that with this jumper. Is it red? Salmon pink? A sun-drenched coral with flecks of terracotta? What we do know is it’s a great colour to embolden our spring wardrobe alongside all our light tailored trousers.
Diadora Titan Speckled Shoe
You can in theory split the world of trainers in two. They either fit in a box marked ‘the future’, or they’re like the ones you’d find in Speilberg films and on the feet of the Stranger Things kids – clunky and gaudy, but able to stir a whirlwind of nostalgia. These new Titan Speckled trainers by Diadora are firmly in the latter camp, with a graffiti-like splatter on the tread and a patchwork quilt of nylon and suede, you could certainly see yourself clambering on the Raleigh Chopper in a pair.
2XU Compression Leggings
Who’d have thought men’s sport leggings would invade the world of high fashion? After a recent collaboration with Kanye West’s Yeezy line and suggestions of more to follow, Australian sportswear brand 2XU has done just that. Its leggings are top of the range, with these new tights having a graduated compression mechanism to support you through your workout and then after while you’re sat in front of Netflix recovering.
