Topman Tie-Dye Hoodie
Tie-dye is one of the most contentious fashion trends of the summer. On one hand, you’ve got all the A-listers led by Justin Bieber and Jonah Hill touting it in their off-duty looks. On the other hand, you can’t get over that image of weird uncle Peter rocking up to your sister’s wedding in his mucky old Grateful Dead tie-dye tee. This tie-dye hoodie from Topman slots a lot more comfortably in the first image, the sprinkle of statement tie-dye working well on the streetwear staple.
Fred Perry x Margaret Howell Polo Shirt
Fred Perry is a dab hand when it comes to the art of the fashion collab. Past match-ups with Raf Simons, Stussy, and even indie rocker Miles Kane have served up stellar aces, and the latest with cutting edge British designer Margaret Howell could be the best yet. The capsule focuses on a monochrome feel with subtle high-fashion change-ups like the daring angled button placket on its oversized polo shirt. A collab that brings out the best in both brands.
Saint Laurent Leather Jacket
As if esteemed French fashion brand Saint Laurent could get any higher, the label then went out and put the man of the moment, Keanu Reeves in its new advertising campaign. The black and white shots were all shades of fly but what really stood out was Reeves’s leather jacket, the final stamp on his official world’s coolest man title. And if you want to make like Wick, then there’s a leather jacket going in an exclusive collection Saint Laurent is doing with retailer Mr. Porter. Sure it’s a hefty price tag, but can you put a price on looking this slick?
Burton Organic Rinse Jeans
The question of sustainability in fashion is really penetrating fast fashion at the moment, and it’s great to see so many high street brands throw their weight behind it. Burton is one of the latest with the affordable British brand having just released these new organic cotton jeans made with a sustainable wash that uses less water and fewer chemicals than normal.
Ché Baller Shorts
Brand new spanking menswear brand Ché is resort-wear courtesy of model Oliver Cheshire and nothing to do with the famous revolutionary of the same name. The style closely mimics Cheshire’s own care-free, happy-go-lucky attitude – short brightly coloured shorts and relaxed Cuban collar shirts, perfect for your upcoming poolside sojourn.
Q Timex Reissue 38mm Watch
Quartz watches revolutionised watch-making when it was introduced just 50 years ago. First released in the late 1970s this Q Timex watch was one of the first to use the new tech, with a design inspired by the expensive diving watches of the time. To celebrate the anniversary the US watchmaker has recreated the watch in exacting detail with a woven stainless-steel bracelet and eye-catching luminescent paint hour markers.
BDK Tabac Rose Eau De Parfum
The more exotic the whiffs the better we say when it comes to buying a luxury fragrance. Turkish rose, pink pepper, plum, cinnamon, tobacco, patchouli oil, labdanum resin – this new fragrance from perfumer David Benedek is a smorgasbord of exotic smells and all sweetly married together for a scent with all the sophistication of a Hollywood A-lister.
Orlebar Brown Goldfinger Onesie
When swim shorts supremo Orelebar Brown announced it was going to release a collection of James Bond looks through the films we didn’t think they’d throw themselves in this fervently. Well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and these are bang on updates of the originals, the star of the show undoubtedly being this sky blue towelled jumpsuit that Sean Connery donned in Goldfinger.
Marks & Spencer Espadrille
Sneakers can get a little restrictive in the sweaty summer sun but sandals are still a firm no from us around the office. The espadrille offers a good half-way house, like these ones from Marks & Spencer with their lightweight canvas design and ease of entry, so you don’t have to worry about sweaty feet nor subjecting your colleagues to the accompanying smell.
Zara SRPLS Souvenir Jacket
The second drop in the SRPLUS collection from Spanish fast fashion giant Zara plays it fast and loose with clashing patterns, fabrics, and raw hems. This swish souvenir jacket is a stand-out for the edit, with its velvety finish and a monster patch making a statement on the rear.
Miansai Gold Plated Cuff
When it comes to men’s jewellery, Miami-based bangle brand Miansai are up there as one of the best. Case in point, its latest collection has been just brought over to the UK by Mr. Porter and is a relative treasure trove of gold and silver goodies including this elegant cuff for your wrist, which has been sculpted and polished from gold-plated brass and is finely ridged for an added dash of pizzazz.
Ritual Of The Samurai Bath Foam
The samurai with their fancy top-knots and carefully groomed facial hair are under-rated historical style icons in our book. Influenced by the precise grooming regimes of these handsome warriors, Ritual Of The Samurai create practical products infused with eastern aromas like this silky-smooth shower wash packed with soothing Bamboo extract and calming Sandalwood.
Stan Ray Painter Pants
“I only wanted to see you laughing in the purple pants. Purple pants, purple pants” – so sung Prince in his 1984 classic. Well, something like that. The memory is a little bit (purple) hazy. Anyway, these purple pants from the crown prince of workwear Stan Ray are a cracking way to bring colour into your trouser department. Pair them with a white logo tee for a class laid-back look that will put all those other streetwear princes to shame. Sing it with us now: “Purple pants, purple pants…”
North Skateboard Magazine Cap
Most of the fashion brands in skatewear started as side-hustles by magazines within the scene. The US-based Thrasher is the biggest name, but there are a few crossovers over in the UK too, including North Skateboard Magazine which on top of it of its mag also creates simple, durable wares like this lightweight nylon cap cast in a handsome shade of green, an ideal foil to your usual Saturday-in-the-park get-up.
New Balance 990v5 Trainers
“Worn by supermodels in London and dads in Ohio” – that may just be one of the greatest slogans in fashion history. The sneaker in question was the New Balance 990, first released in 1982. It’s become one of the most popular shoes in the US sportswear brand’s arsenal. It’s just had a fifth revision with a new bouncy Ortholite insert on the sole (for the dads) and sleeker, modernised branding (for the models) that will hopefully open it up to a whole new army of fans.
Brain Dead T-Shirt
There are some cracking logo tees doing the rounds at this sweet time, and this one from graphic-led streetwear brand Brain Dead is one of the tastiest. That rusty terracotta shade will beam in the summer sun and the punchy throwback logo is a retro treat. Wear yours casually over some light denim jeans. No need to outshine this bobby dazzler.
Barbour Awe Casual Jacket
A classic waxed jacket from Barbour is a must for any tempestuous festival season. The winter versions can be a bit warm when the sun does eventually rear its head, so the heritage brand has kindly produced a summer option cut in a streamlined shape and with a thinner lining, plus an eye-popping tartan underneath the collar.
The best streetwear is subtle at first, lulling people into a false sense of security before the sucker punch round the back. Take this simple black tee from British streetwear brand Lorenz which just features simple embroidery on the front before revealing its glorious pop-art print on the back for the passersby to take in.
Sandqvist Stig Backpack
A backpack is for life, not just the summer. So when you invest in one make sure it’s one that lasts like the minimalist but sleek sacks from Scandi brand Sandqvist. This heavy cotton-canvas bag with its striking leather details across the front can carry a surprisingly hefty 14 litres, more than enough supplies for a weekend getaway.
Björn Borg x Vivendii Boxer Shorts
Wearing your knickers on the streets is a certain one-way ticket to jail, so we were interested to see how Greek streetwear label Vivendii matching up with undergarments brand Bjorn Borg was going to pan out. Three sets of boxers are featured in the set – bleach polka dots, tropical print and then these snake-skin boxers which are quite possibly the most bonkers thing you’ll ever don.
