Nike x Undercover Gyakusou Holiday 2013 Collection
After several years of collaboration between sportswear giant Nike and Undercover Gyakusou, the two brands are back together for the obligatory holiday 2013 apparel and footwear collection.
Jun Takahashi, the designer of the garments, combines Nike’s exceptional high tech fabrics with his minimalistic design style, resulting in understated apparel that can be worn as both sportswear and casual wear.
The highlight of the entire range is the Aeroloft vest, which features multiple panels stitched together in a way that creates a specific 3D pattern. It is constructed from ripstop nylon, which, as the name suggest, is extremely resistant to tears and rips, and is stuffed with high-quality 800-fil down – perfect for keeping you warm when on your morning run or work commute in the winter. Through your own movement, the fabric activates its ventilation abilities and allows trapped air to escape as your activity level increases.
Other practical pieces include wind and water resistant jackets, Dri-FIT thermal tops and running trousers in a variety of warm colours such as muted burgundy, orange and navy. These pieces utilise Nike’s cutting-edge technology, which allows you to wear only a single layer whilst getting the insulation and warmth of a few layers worth of clothing.
Accessories include neck warmers, caps and running gloves in similar colour ways, whilst the shoe collection features the Nike LunarGlide +5 and LunarSpider LT +3 in monochrome variations. Between the choice of orange, red, grey and muted navy, you cannot go wrong with a pair of these running shoes. Not only reserved for exercise, they will change the way you approach your casual wardrobe as you’ll be constantly looking for ways to incorporate them within your weekend looks.
Overall, the Nike x Undercover Gyakusou Holidary 2013 collection combines great style and a fun palette with high quality and performance. The collaboration will drop this October and will be available at select Nike stores.
