Trailer Released For Tyre-Inspired Trainer
Sportswear and lifestyle brand adidas Originals has unveiled a trailer for the latest addition to its trainer line up, the Tubular Runner, due for release later this month.
The new model, formed with a tyre-inspired tube-shaped rubber sole, combines a neoprene upper and sock liner with a laser cut leather heel cage and overlays.
For its first release, the Tubular Runner will be available in four shades – black, white, burgundy and grey – each finished with coordinating laces and a branded tongue tab.
Other design elements have been adapted from adidas Originals’ previous models, including the sole unit from its Y-3 range and the ghillie lacing system from its ZX and EQT lines.
An introductory video for the shoe highlights further details, such as a trefoil logo heel stamp and ridged tube base.
According to the brand the Tubular Runner is a “progressive design update to an archive style that was ahead of its time in the 1990s,” it also “fuses a bold look with modern materials”.
The latest announcement follows the reveal of a collaborative collection with British heritage brand Barbour and the second instalment of its Pharrell Williams line, set to drop 1st December.
The adidas Originals Tubular Runner will launch in the UK on 23rd November at select adidas Originals retailers and online, priced at £90.
