One of 2013s ‘Young Fashion Brand of the Year’ nominees has unveiled its spring/summer collection. Heritage-inspired Native Youth is hoping to continue the success which saw it shortlisted for the award by Drapers earlier this year. The Manchester brand’s second summer line, having been founded in 2012, makes use of vibrant colours, styled with exotic floral patterns and graphic prints in cuts driven by the season. T-shirts carry block colours with chest pocket details, as well as more daring and designs. Vests are present, alongside many pairs of swimming and casual shorts. Outerwear is understated, using contrast sleeves and silhouettes to vary the range on offer. The top layer on show keeps the heat in mind with a bright, lightweight windbreaker and fisherman mac providing the two technical pieces. The brand spoke about wanting to bring a “relaxed but confident” feel to the collection, which will be seen in stockists worldwide. An accompanying lookbook has been shot in front of a wall splashed with powdered dye, highlighting the diverse colour palette available. The collection by Native Youth can be found at various independent stores throughout the UK, as well as online at ASOS and Urban Outfitters.
