Nutters of Savile Row x Peter Werth
Following the success of the roller disco dance off to showcase the Nutters of Savile Row x Peter Werth collection at January’s London Collection: MEN, FashionBeans are pleased to announce that the collection is now available for consumer purchase.
The debut collaborative collection by legendary bespoke tailoring firm Nutters of Savile Row and progressive British menswear brand Peter Werth was initiated by the wardrobe design and production work undertaken for the upcoming feature film Northern Soul.
Set in 1975, the story follows two young chaps whose lives are transformed through the discovery of the underground club scene and the powerful soul music genre.
The collection itself comprises light wool jackets designed to fit like knitwear, wide-leg trousers and chunky woollies.
Representing the heritage of both brands, a range of checked trousers and knitted cardigans accessorised with neck ties embrace the spirit and attitude of the 1970s soul scene.
Single- and double-breasted overcoats – complete with Nutter’s signature oversized lapels – and knitwear that pays homage to Savile Row by incorporating over-scaled Prince of Wales, houndstooth and windowpane check designs form the backbone of the collection.
The collection as a whole is not only sharp enough to enter high-end private jaunts with sophisticated success, but it could also seamlessly slide onto the dance floors of the hottest soul clubs in town – something we’re sure Tommy Nutter would have approved of.
In summary, the collaboration pays homage to the founders of two truly British and London brands: the sartorial ‘enfant terrible’ in the late Tommy Nutter and the charismatic Peter Werth.
The Nutters of Savile Row x Peter Werth collection is now live at PeterWerth.co.uk.
