Loewe Launches Solo Loewe Platinum
If you were to ponder what the fragrances would smell like from a brand whose history is steeped in leather production, the natural answer may well be leather. So it came as a surprise to FashionBeans that with the launch of Solo Loewe Platinum, it was the first time that leather had ever been utilised in one of Loewe’s luxury scents.
Loewe was established in 1846, when the company set out to create bespoke leather cases that allowed the buyer to customise the inside with objects they needed for their day to day life – almost like a picnic hamper full of everyday essentials. This notion may seem twee now but it was revolutionary at the time and helped cement the brand as the most prestige leather goods producer in Spain.
The leather-inspired Solo Loewe Platinum took the brand years to formulate, so the resulting fragrance is completely representative of their core values. With FashionBeans one of the first few to sniff the scent at an exclusive breakfast in Loewe’s Mount Street, London store, we can confirm it would make a welcome addition to any modern gent’s bathroom cabinet.
In terms of smell, Solo Loewe Platinum has base notes of tea and black leather, which is contrasted perfectly with the freshness and softness of pure lavender – the result being a versatile scent that is also extremely masculine and timeless.
If you usually opt for fresher EDTs, rather than heavy woody/night scents, we insist you forget any preconceptions about leather and fragrance. This one is both fresh and suitable for day wear whilst retaining a welcome earthiness that will stand out in a crowd of traditionally light summer alternatives.
Solo Lowe Platinum is available exclusively at The Fragrance Shop, priced at £58.50.
