Designer menswear e-tailer Mr Porter has taken stock of a series of exclusive bags from American outdoor brand Filson. The made in USA company, which specialises in “rugged quality”, has produced five bags for the online store in water-repellent oiled-twill with leather trims. Styles include three backpacks in green, blue and brown, as well as a green holdall and Harris tweed briefcase. Details comprise padded laptop sleeves, storm flaps, brass fittings, detachable shoulder straps and expandable pockets. The century-old manufacturer believes its Seattle-made products last long enough to be handed down through generations, offering a lifetime guarantee with each purchase. Established in 1897, Filson also sells clothing, accessories and a wider range of luggage for outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and photography. The company currently has a single standalone location in London, located on Newburgh Street, which it opened in 2013. Editorial-led shopping site Mr Porter has grown significantly since launching in 2011 to house a number of exclusives from the likes of John Lobb, Richard James and Ami. Earlier this month the menswear arm of Net-A-Porter, also became the UK’s first seller of Google Glass technology. The exclusive to Mr Porter bags from Filson are available to buy online now. Prices start from £290 for the Harris tweed briefcase, £295 for the backpacks and peak at £330 for the holdall.
