British Menswear Brand Uses Horn For Optical Range

Classic menswear brand Hackett has revealed the result of creating its latest eyewear collection completely from horn. The British firm has produced four optical styles in six colour ways for AW14, using both ram and buffalo versions of the ethically sourced material. Shades of tan, brown, black and grey, across round, square and rectangle shapes will be available when the range launches next year. In addition to the riveted hinges and mitred joints, the tip of each arm is hand fitted with the brand’s signature bowler hat and crossed umbrellas logo. The lifestyle label, which recently showed as part of London Collections: Men, has been selling optical and sun glasses since 2005. The collection has been produced in partnership with eyewear suppliers Mondottica, which also manufactures for the likes of Ted Baker, Converse and Pepe Jeans. Hackett eyewear is currently available in around 500 stockists across the UK. The AW14 Horn collection will go into select stores early in 2015, prices range between £600-£750.
