Technical Piece The Focus For AW14
Having recently celebrated fifty years in the industry, Henri Lloyd has reached back to its sailing heritage for inspiration this season.
The result is the new Bartley jacket: a practical and “versatile piece made to withstand all weather conditions”.
Priced at £200, the jacket is “one of the most technical jackets in the entire range”, with a wadded lining and taped seams ensuring it is 100 per cent waterproof. Other technical features include a throat placket, peaked hood and marine pockets, all influenced by the brand’s history in sailing.
However, according to the brand, it has been “styled in a way that would be as much as home in the city than on a boat”, coming in four colour ways and finished with a contrasting hood.
Henri Lloyd has made sailing the focus of its autumn/winter 2014 collection, enlisting British Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie to front its accompanying campaign imagery.
The collection comprises a “range of specialised garments that will ensure focus is on the task at hand, not worrying about the rainy winds”, adapted to work for people living in modern urban environments.
