Hunter To Open First London Flagship

Hunter is the latest brand to put pen to paper on retail space in Regent Street. The British label, known for its Wellington boots and umbrellas, confirmed a deal has been done for the 5,300sq ft former Ferrari store.

The move comes after a relaunch, which saw the twice-Royal Warrant holders position itself as a lifestyle brand. Both the Hunter Original and soon-to-launch specialist performance line, Hunter Field, will be housed at the location when it opens later this year.

Chief executive James Seuss believes the decision open next to the likes of J.Crew, Hackett and Lacoste is a “key milestone” in the development of the brand.

“Choosing to establish our first retail presence on Regent Street stays true to our heritage as a British brand,” he added.

The firm, which was founded in 1856, plans to create an “immersive environment” in the store, just minutes from Piccadilly Circus.

FashionBeans has reported on several companies moving to the regenerated area in recent weeks, including Aquascutum, Piquadro and Tumi.

Hunter will open the doors to 83 Regent Street this autumn. Meanwhile, the brand continues to be available online as well as at Harrods, House of Fraser, John Lewis and other stockists. Prices for Original boots start from £70.
