Acclaimed street style photographer Jonathan Daniel Pryce is the first artist to feature in a mini-exhibition at London barbershop Ruffians. The rotating gallery, housed in the ‘wet area’ of the firm’s West London location, aims to showcase work from within the creative industries. Pryce’s contribution to the initiative has been taken from edition two of his 100 Beards book, published earlier in the year. The award-winning Scot has been photographing facial hair since the start of original blog in 2012. Adam Brady, who manages publicity and events for Ruffians, told FashionBeans: “This association is quite exciting for us, as [Pryce] seems to have transcended the Scottish/London divide.” “The 100 Beards project has received a lot of attention, so having some pictures here is hopefully going to bring in quite a crowd,” he added. Pryce, who first visited Ruffians in Edinburgh, said it felt like the “perfect partnership”. “The 100 Beards philosophy is all about celebrating masculinity, uniqueness and strength of character, which comes across so well in the barbershop.” Pryce also took images of the interior, which recently underwent its first update since opening in February. According to Brady, the images will remain in place until beginning to mid-June, at which point a new as yet undisclosed artist will take up the position. Ruffians is located in Covent Garden, beard trims cost £30 and haircuts £45. 100 Beards Edition Two is still available to buy online, priced at £25.
