Capsule Collection Inspired By Print
Casual menswear brand Original Penguin has unveiled two new collections for the AW14 season. The first, a 12-piece capsule collection inspired by classic paisley prints, focuses on relaxed pieces such as t-shirts, casual shirts, trousers and outwear. The American label has used navy as well as pale blue and berry colour ways for the base, adding the pattern in contrasting shades. Some pieces make use of accents of the print on areas including collars and pockets, while others feature a full covering. Prices in the range start at £30 for t-shirts, £65 for shirts, £70 for chinos and £120 for a bomber jacket. Original Penguin has also announced a smaller six-piece collection titled ‘Gentleman’s Attire’, which features a British gent-inspired print of bowler hats, moustaches and monocles. Prices start at £35 for a t-shirt, rising to £65 for a shirt or jumper. Since undergoing a relaunch, Original Penguin has built a presence by entering high street retailers such as Urban Outfitters and collaborating with the likes of Scotts Menswear. Both the Paisley and Gentlemen’s Attire collection will be available to buy from 28th August. UK stores House of Fraser and John Lewis will stock both ranges, alongside Originally Penguin’s Covent Garden and Westfield Stratford City stores and online.
