Collection Inspired By Consumer Packaging
Scandinavian menswear label Our Legacy has unveiled its mid-season Splash collection, having looked to semi-industrial environments and packaging for inspiration.
The line for AW14, titled ‘TM Light’, draws inspirations from “locations such as supermarkets, where products are packaged and wrapped in paper, plastic and metal”.
High shine fabrics and crumpled textures have been used throughout to emulate packaging, with highlights including silver coloured outerwear and light cotton shirting.
The consumer product influence continues with printed pieces reflecting the designs found on food tins, which have been “reinterpreted in a personal and artisan way”.
Embroidered wording such as light and superlight finish the theme.
Founded in 2005 by Christopher Nying and Jockum Hallin, Our Legacy introduced its first Splash collection in SS14 as a mid-season capsule wardrobe.
Earlier this month, the brand launch its first store outside of Sweden, opening up in London’s Soho. It is also stocked online via Mr Porter, End clothing and Oi Polloi.
The Our Legacy AW14 Splash collection is available now online and at the brand’s new UK store. Prices start at £125 for shirting and £330 for blazers.
