Independent Store Expands Once Again With New Home

London-based independent The Goodhood Store has opened its new flagship, which sees the retailer expand four-fold. The 3,000sq ft space in Shoreditch houses menswear, accessories and grooming products across two floors alongside other lines. It takes over from the original location on Coronet Street which featured in FashionBeans’ list of the ten best independent menswear stores in the UK before closing last month. Brands carried in the new outlet include Levi’s, Dickies, Norse Projects, Wood Wood and skincare label Verso. Bosses have also worked with Brett Redman, who owns Elliot’s Cafe Borough Market and the Pavilion Cafe Victoria Park, to launch the Commune at Goodhood Cafe. A launch statement online said: “It’s been an exciting journey to get to our new home and we want to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone.” From tonight it will be one of a few stores in Europe to take stock of the first full collaborative collection between Neighborhood and Carhartt, featuring work jackets, shirts and beanies in leopard print. Launched in 2007, Goodhood has expanded several times with additional ventures such as the Goodhood Workshop and Goodhood Creative as well as collaborations with the likes of Soulland and Universal Works. Goodhood’s new store on Curtain Road is open now. The Neighborhood x Carhartt collection will be available to buy from midnight on September 3rd.
