Puma R698 Splatter Pack
Puma has released a new trainer designed specifically for summer, utilising a range of lightweight materials to create the R698 Splatter Pack. Following on from its AW14 ‘Snow Splatter Pack’, the brand’s SS15 offering brings us three colourful options, each crafted from suede and mesh panelling complete with coordinating laces and branded heel and tongue tabs. Staying true to the original form of the R698 silhouette, first introduced in the nineties, the boldly-coloured range combines soft materials with classic features, including Trinomic cushioning and a chunky midsole. As the name suggests, the trainers are finished with speckled-effect heels and fading colour detailing. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Puma re-work its R698 model this year; in March the sportswear giant made over the shoe as part of its minimalist Black and White Pack, while a collaboration with Parisian label Brooklyn We Go Hard in February saw the design updated in soft neutral shades. The Puma R968 Splatter Pack will be available later this month at Schuh, ASOS and Footasylum, priced at £65 per pair.
