British Footwear Brand Frank Wright Is Stepping Things Up

British footwear brand Frank Wright took its first steps in London more than 130 years ago, creating peg-sole boots for cavalry officers at the Chelsea Barracks.

After relocating to Kettering, it went on to become a major part of London’s Carnaby Street scene in the 1960s, before cementing its place in youth culture as a wardrobe staple on the terraces during the late 1970s and 1980s.

Fast-forward to the present day and Frank Wright is on a new footing, producing strong, modern collections that continue to draw on its rich heritage.

Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection

With a heavy Scandinavian influence, Frank Wright’s autumn/winter 2016 collection signals a step change for the brand. The most noticeable difference comes from an effort to update its roster with trend-led silhouettes that appeal to a stylish male audience.

This is especially visible in the clean lines and contemporary finish of styles including the newly added cup sole sneakers and cool classics such as elasticated Chelsea boots.

All the while, the brand continues to pay close attention to the craftsmanship that made its footwear so popular more than a century ago. Premium materials, including Scotchgrain and washed leather, are combined with a high attention to detail – signature orange and grey tabs, stud detailing, understated branding on the outsoles – to create shoes any man would be proud to add to his collection.
