Barry Jenkins: not the name of your local window cleaner, but the man behind Moonlight and some mighty fine menswear looks. At the Jury Cinéfondation photocall, the 37-year-old tempered potentially risky florals with quieter tailoring and some classic Oxfords for a squeaky clean finish.

Neutrals needn’t read boring, or so says Chris Pine. While working the rope line in New York City, the Wonder Woman star went Mayfair on Manhattan with a lightweight two-piece and all the tailoring trends du jour: peak lapels, double-breasted blazer and a tonal shirt sans tie.

After hosting (and roasting) the White House Correspondents Dinner and a slot on The Daily Show, 2017 is set to be Hasan Minhaj’s year. So it makes sense to build an equally stellar wardrobe. While several staples in tandem could be perceived as playing it safe, the comedian lifted the look with an emerald green bomber for some much-needed colour and texture. His look is as bright as his future.

He’s always worn his heart on his sleeve (and a lot less on paddleboards), and Orlando Bloom’s appearance on The Tonight Show was no different. Proving that prints are far from dead with a statement shirt, the newly single actor dialled down the look elsewhere with safe, all-black pieces.

His and hers motor leathers aside, David Beckham can do no wrong – especially when it concerns black tie. At the amfAR Gala in Cannes, Golden Balls opted for a foolproof tux complete with all the right accessories. And, thankfully, a classic slickback that ages far better than, say, cornrows.

While a pink velvet overcoat makes for fine post-show photography, Donald Glover provided a more wearable take on Gucci’s signature quirk.
