Despite the bashful stance, Macklemore has little reason to be shy. The rapper made an MVP look out of old-school sportswear classics, with the dark jacket and Converse keeping the outfit from straying into ‘season ticket holder’. Factor in the flecks of gold to cuffs and collar, and the 30-year-old scored a home run.

Sorry Kevin, nobody born pre-1998 wants a sequel to the all-time classic that is Jumanji. What they do want, however, is a tonal masterclass like this. The stateside funny man combined a symphony of neutrals for a look that’s stylish and simple in equal measure. Consider yourself almost forgiven, Kev.

Colour needn’t fade in winter. As Niall Horan proved at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball, one primary-hued piece – in this case, an overshirt – can bring some Yuletide cheer to the simplest of looks. That doesn’t give you carte blanche to flex Santa’s head-to-toe red, though.

If regular red carpets are a daunting task, consider the British Fashion Awards The Hunger Games: a catty melting pot of industry top brass and semi-famous names. But that didn’t stop model Isaac Carew clinching victory, anchoring a statement checked two-piece with a black tee and monk-straps.

Like all would-be rock stars, Harry Styles is big in Japan. Big trousered, that is. As a keen advocate of the seventies maximalism trend, the former Directioner pitted some tricky pink flares with fail-safe staples up top, resulting in a daring but balanced look that deserves to go platinum.

Whoever said all-black is boring should speak to Sebastian Stan. The Avengers: Infinity War star made monochrome memorable at a recent premiere, with his textured lapels and tie adding depth to a tailored look. Get us on that blacklist.

Where: Ermenegildo Zegna Couture XXX Collection Launch, LA
Events hosted by the likes of Ermenegildo Zegna demand top threads, and LA Galaxy star Robbie Rogers didn’t disappoint. The 30-year-old used Pantone’s Colour of 2018 (ultra violet, in case you were wondering) to break-up overarching darkness, then added further interest via a tonal, patterned jacket.
