Who: Patrick Stewart

Where: Logan Premiere, Beijing

Boldly going where no man has gone before (well, not since the eighties), Patrick Stewart opted for a boxy double-breasted jacket at the Beijing Premiere of Logan. Captain Picard upgraded classic pinstripes with burgundy accents and a relaxed fit that hits current trends with plasma beam precision.

Who: Luke Evans

Where: Beauty And The Beast Premiere, LA

When you’ve been romantically linked to the crushingly handsome Jon Kortajarena, scrubbing up is essential. Lucky for Luke Evans, he does it pretty well. Recently, the Welsh actor went full Jay Gatsby in a textured double-breasted suit and Art Deco-inspired wide tie that provides just enough noise to be considered tasteful.

Who: Swizz Beatz

Where: Paris Fashion Week

Hip-hop producer turned Alicia Keys BAE turned front-row fodder, this week Swizz Beatz hit Paris Fashion Week with a bang. Who: Tom Hiddleston

Where: London

If the whole Bond thing doesn’t work out, at least we know Tom Hiddleston makes a great boy in blue. Here, the Kong: Skull Island star’s tonal look gets an upgrade thanks to a mottled wool pea coat and grey shoes that work with the all-navy look elsewhere. Live and let dye.

Who: John Legend

Where: Beauty And The Beast Premiere, LA

He may be hitched to one of Hollywood’s fairest beauties, but John Legend is no beast. At the premiere of the remade Disney classic, the ‘Ordinary People’ crooner turned the red carpet blue in a two-piece with a crosshatch print for added depth. Add to it a classic bow-tie, and Legend shines far brighter than any talking candlestick.

Who: Big Sean

Where: 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards, LA

Big in name, small in stature, massive in style; Big Sean may ride more highs and lows than a polygraph test, but his look stands taller than ever. The rapper’s red tracksuit bottoms here are a masterclass in tailored sportswear, and the typography T-shirt works with the overall colour palette.

Who: Dev Patel

Where: LA

Getting ‘papped’ might be a pain in the arse, but at least we get a glimpse of get-ups like this. Here, Dev Patel combines two workwear staples – the borg-collared jacket and chinos – for a sharp off-duty look, neatly tied together with a dark palette. Sorry Dev, we’ll leave you alone now.

Who: Nick Jonas

Where: Fenty Puma Show, Paris Fashion Week

We’re not sure how kindly airport security take to expletive-laden sportswear, yet Nick Jonas makes cursing acceptable in this all-black look. The monochrome jeans, sneakers, hoodie and hat are endlessly wearable, while a layered leather jacket introduces some much-needed texture.

Who: Joe Jonas

Where: New York

It’s a game of tones with Joe Jonas as he ventures out with his GOT star girlfriend, Sophie Turner. The orange hoodie provides a pop of colour that, while tricky to wear, is anchored with a Stark-worthy neutral bomber jacket and staple black jeans below.

Who: Jay-Z

Where: Beauty And The Beast Premiere, LA

It’s no secret that the Knowles-Carter family are devout Gucci followers. Here the Jiggaman lets one of Alessandro Michele’s key pieces for the season – an embroidered denim jacket – do most of the talking, while green-accented Stan Smith’s tie the whole clan together.
