For SS17, Dune London is re-telling the oldest story in the book – where boy meets girl. Guiding you through the brand’s home city, London, Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel and model-turned-chef Isaac Carew embark upon a tale of fate, romance and, of course, endlessly stylish shoes. To shoot the campaign, Dune London called on famed world-renowned photographer Rankin and his creative agency, The Full Service. A household name, best known for his portraits of everyone from bands and artists to supermodels and politicians, Rankin tapped into the cinematic style of the 1990s and 2000s with his intimate approach and playful sense of humour. The result is an ode to timeless classics and the season’s biggest trends. Stepping out onto the streets of the capital, textures become the protagonist, with smooth suedes, buttery-soft leathers and polished patents all playing a pivotal role, supported by a palette of royal blues, rich browns and crisp whites.
5 Key Shoe Styles For SS17
Dune London Pacific Black Colour Pop Rand Gibson Shoe
As the weather brightens, trading in lace-ups for something seasonally-appropriate can leave a practical hole in your shoedrobe. For a fresh take on summer shoes without having to resort to flip-flops, go for something with a twist. The matt finish Pacific Gibson combines a smart Derby shape with a modern colour-pop sole for a subtle refresh on formal footwear. £100; dunelondon.com
Dune London Titanas All-Over White Trainer
A man will own far fewer shoes than clothes, so it makes sense to buy styles that work with as much of your existing wardrobe as possible. Crisp white sneakers are a returning staple for spring/summer and Dune London’s Titanas trainers trade in the flashy logos for a pared-back approach. The padded collar and perforated heel tick this season’s athleisure boxes, and the neat finish means they’re smart enough for all occasions. £80; dunelondon.com
Dune London Castro Grey Chelsea Desert Boot
Hybrids aren’t always a good idea, but these boots are an exception. Combining the comfortable crepe sole of a classic desert boot with the neat finish of a Chelsea boot, the Castro is a versatile weekend shoe in a stormy grey suede that will complement all shades of denim. £70; dunelondon.com
Dune London Ruling Stone Smart Penny Loafer
Whether heading on a summer city break or to a summer wedding, a preppy penny loafer is an on-trend way to keep feet feeling fresh and looking on point. Smart and lightweight, this deep tan pair in smooth suede is the ideal partner for a navy suit or chinos. Ankle-baring optional. £90; dunelondon.com
Dune London Perez Brown Colour Pop Brogue Shoe
There’s no better time to experiment with brighter shades than in summer. These Perez colour-pop brogues are a refined way of adding interest to a smart-casual look. Wingtips are making a comeback thanks to Ryan Gosling’s turn in La La Land, but ditching black-and-white versions for a punchier pair will add some cinematic panache without falling into jazz-hands territory. £100; dunelondon.com
