Jaguar XF Sportbrake

Saloon cars don’t normally set pulses racing, but Jaguar’s new XF Sportbrake is more a sensible sports car than anything else. Low, curvy and powerful, it has the good looks and seductive purr to satisfy your mid-life crisis, with enough practical features to let you justify the purchase. There’s a lot of boot space, but we were rather more taken with the panoramic roof, all-wheel-drive handling and the six-cylinder V6 engine that gallops from 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds.

McCulloch RM1000 Robotic Lawnmower

Before the BBQ beer sessions can commence, it’s a wise move to bring some lawn and order back to your garden. For a Ground-Force-meets-Robot-Wars approach to cutting grass, try McCulloch’s automatic mower out for size. The mechanical goat will chew up anything in its path over a 1,000m² area, leaving behind a party-ready patch.

Gazelle Ultimate T9 HMB

In summer, most commuters smell like a ham that’s been left behind a radiator for 16 years. And while cycling to the office is a solid way to swerve the stench, the early morning workout can quickly soak your shirt through. Let one of Dutch brand Gazelle’s electric offerings take some of the load and get you to the board meeting bone dry.

Original Xbox Controller

For anyone without hands the size of goalie gloves, the original Xbox controller was a button-masher of beastly proportions. Nevertheless, the re-release of the Nintendo NES clearly has tech fans hankering for more nostalgic gaming gear. And so accessory maker Hyperkin is bringing ‘The Duke’ back in a limited run later this year.

LG G6+ Smartphone

With a name like ‘plus’, it’s fair to expect a lot of ‘more’ from LG’s updated G6 model. And the South Korean firm’s flagship phone certainly delivers more storage, more sound, more colourways and tonnes more features like wireless charging and ‘face print’ technology, which allows users to unlock the phone simply by looking at it.

Available from July at LG, priced TBC.

Zaha Hadid Design Princess Leia Coffee Table

Aside from being an intergalactic pin-up, the original hun with buns, Princess Leia, is probably best known for her trademark hairstyle. The Star Wars character played by the late Carrie Fisher has now been immortalised by this shiny black glass and carbon fibre coffee table, created by Zaha Hadid Design for pop culture collectable company Leblon Delienne.
