When it comes to possibilities in the world of fashion, the sky is the limit – and that is exactly where Brian Wood has sought inspiration for his AW13 collection. Using the concept of space and all that can be found within it, the designer has created a futuristic collection boasting alternative fits, skilful tailoring and intelligent detailing. Working within a galactic palette of grey, black and pops of orange, the offering remains as wearable as it does creative. Stripes and lines are the favoured form of patterning, with quirky Breton styles consistently appearing, whilst orange piping makes a less frequent but entirely welcome appearance too. Quilting techniques work to expand the detailing available, with metallic quilted shorts also adding a sporty edge when paired with white trainers and long socks. Layering remains a strong component in regards to styling, with neutrals and darker shades intelligently incorporated to tone down the more ‘out there’ pieces. However, the most wearable and perhaps versatile piece could well be the dip-dye sweater with front pocket.
