Almost a decade ago I stepped into Size? on Carnaby Street for the first time, and ever since then I have been madly in love with trainers. Some of my views are quite extreme, for example I firmly believe every male should own a pair of Adidas Superstar IIs at some point in their lives and each individual should experience the longing feeling you have for a yet-to-be-released pair of kicks – like I did with Reebok’s Sir Jams.

A few years ago I purchased a pair of Clae Thompson’s when the brand were relatively unknown on UK shores. Finished in dark navy with a thick off-white rubber sole, they were my go-to smart trainers for years and have survive to this day. I think this really highlights the clean design principles and high quality build that the brand seem to incorporate into all their work – the spring 2013 collection being no different.

Pictures really do say a thousand words so I’ll leave you alone whilst you pretend the legs in the photos below belong to your own body. However, I will mention that the colour matching for this collection is so exquisite and the clean design ethos so well executed that I challenge you to refrain from buying a pair.

My money is on the ‘Winston’ (suede tasselled loafers) becoming a top seller this season, although the ‘Mills’ (running trainer) could be a dark horse – especially as similar styles from New Balance have gained in popularity recently. I can feel a hole burning in my pocket already…

Looking good isn’t important, it’s everything.
