New British label Judge & Jury has released their campaign lookbook for SS13. The brand boasts strong northern roots, fusing detailed classic designs with a street wear edge – helping develop a unique aesthetic that encapsulates attitude, individualistic style and quality.
The collection features denim, chinos, shorts and strong graphic tees. With the underlying ‘world traveler’ theme running throughout, the range provides stylish and very wearable pieces in a slightly darker palette to what we traditionally expect in spring/summer, with a lot of burgundy and autumnal coloured pieces on show.
Key pieces for spring/summer include the ‘Bristol’, a nautical inspired t-shirt that exemplifies the relaxed street wear vibe of the collection; the ‘Skullthuggery’, a slim fitted skull graphic t-shirt available in white and red; and the ‘Stand and Deliver’, another graphic t-shirt brings a striking element to the t-shirt collection.
As this is a British label, we also see pieces suited for our notoriously lackluster summer. The ‘Seadog’ is a classic hooded duffle coat that comes in a variety of colour options, whilst the ‘Hampton’ shawl collared cardigan is one of the more interesting pieces which features a slight acid wash finish.
However, the highlight of the range has to be the burgundy ‘Nightshift’ over-shirt. A versatile and lightweight piece, the lightweight jacket has strong mod influences – emphasised by its slim cut and shape – and would slip seamlessly into any existing capsule wardrobe. This is a piece of outerwear that would serve you well all year round, whether utilised as a top layer through spring/summer or as an extra layer of insulation during autumn/winter.
Overall, this modern collection offers menswear classics with touches of boldness, individualism and attitude.
