MQT AW13 The Woodsman Collection
Not long has passed since we featured the SS13 collection by denim label MQT, but as Oscar Wilde once famously said: “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months”. Whilst nothing is intolerable about the current collection by MQT, Wilde certainly had a point about the necessity to progress in fashion as we begin to prepare for the inevitable fall and winter season. With this in mind, FashionBeans presents to you the AW13 collection showcase by ‘Masters of Quality and Tradition’. The collection, entitled the ‘Woodsman Collection’, takes inspiration from nature and the outdoors. The use of faded denim and neutral hues on vintage-style chinos creates an easy to wear and unpretentious aesthetic, ensuring every single pair of trousers will integrate effortlessly into any autumnal look. The family-run label have also put significant effort in expanding their diverse range of cuts. Adding new drop crotch, skinny and twisted silhouettes, the collection has something for everyone, whilst still maintaining a high level of consistency and attention to detail – evident through detailing such as asymmetrical seams and tapered legs. Modelling the collection is the familiar face of Ben Smallwood, who wears the garments in a relaxed, nonchalant way. The legwear has been styled with a wide variety of shoes, ranging from tasselled loafers to vintage trainers, thereby reinforcing the clothing’s versatility. Like previous MQT releases, the AW13 Woodsman Collection has been produced to the an extremely high standard – the brand have put each pair of chinos and jeans through scrupulous testing before release to ensure that all garments withstand regular daily wear.
