Obey Warfield Parka

The perfect parka has eluded me for years. Many lost days and sleepless nights have been the result of my unyielding search. Urban jungles have been explored and the online ocean sieved, in a fruitless effort to find this mythical coat. Or so I thought…

It was like any other Saturday – refreshing Facebook every 5 seconds, watching as much football as humanly possible and enjoying the occasional beverage. And, by accident, I clicked on the wrong image. Whilst this was most likely due to the alcohol I had been consuming, it happened to be one of the best mistakes I’ve ever made.

The Obey Warfield ticks all the boxes for me when it comes to a parka. I wanted a coat that wasn’t too thin, like so many I had previously seen, and the thick wool outer of the Warfield means not only am I kept warm and toasty but dry as well. The cut is typically straight (and slightly oversized), allowing the coat to hang off your shoulders – but the addition of a drawstring around the waist helps to give shape to the cloak of material.

With a mix of dark and light shades, the fur trim around the hood looks like it was wrestled from a lion’s mane and, of course, it wouldn’t be a parka without a fishtail.
