England Rugby Star Joins List Of Celebrity Names
Leisurewear retailer Crew Clothing has appointed Rugby Union star Billy Twelvetrees as its latest brand ambassador.
The England player joins TV personality Ben Fogle, sailor Dee Caffair MBE, Olympic rower Louisa Reeve and chef Mitch Tonks in the role, which will see the 25-year-old promote the label’s range of clothing, accessories and shoes.
Speaking about the latest addition, the brand said: “Billy is an incredibly committed individual who embodies the sport’s core values of respect, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.”
The news was made public at Crew’s Stand Up Paddle Boarding Tour, which recently kicked off in Salcombe, Devon.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the fourteen time rugby captain, whose full name is William Wesley Twelvetrees, will appear in print or video ads for the firm.
To coincide with the event and announcement, the brand plans to make its Limited Edition 93 Rugby Shirt available to purchase, with proceeds going to the Plastic Oceans Foundation.
The charity raises awareness for ocean protection, a cause close to Crew’s coastal town roots.
Stand up paddle boarding originated in Hawaii as a variation on traditional surfing during which participants stand on a surfboard and use specially designed paddles to propel them.
Throughout the tour fans are able to sign up to free paddle boarding sessions by registering on Crew’s website.
Currently in Rock Beach, Cornwall, until Sunday August 10th, organisers plan to move to Abersoch Beach, North Wales, from the 20th until 25th of August.
Full details of the tour, along with current season clothing from Crew, are available online now.
