British Designer Explores London Life

British design talent Kit Neale is continuing a tour of London with his latest collection, following up a SS14 range based on his hometown of Peckham with a series of Elephant and Castle-inspired pieces for AW14. The line features rodent-covered prints, reflecting the designer’s experiences of life in the capital. Repetitive monochrome designs are used across shirts, while a colourful pattern featuring an Elephant and Castle graphic with floral references appears on shirts, outerwear, shorts and accessories. The collection incorporates premium materials such as screen-printed fabrics and woven jacquards, adding a variety of textures. An accompanying campaign puts Neale’s signature prints in the spotlight, with models posing against a white backdrop with real life rats and a pile of white stone castles. London-born Neale presented his first collection at London Collections: Men in 2012 as part of the Fashion East initiative. For AW14 he has gone it alone having won sponsorship from the Newgen Men programme. The AW14 collection will be available later this month online and in select stores, including East London’s Huh, with prices starting from £40.
