Menswear Retailer Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Menswear retailer Scotts is celebrating three decades in business by teaming up with Original Penguin on a commemorative collection. The 10-piece line “personifies the past 30 years of menswear style in the UK,” looking mainly to the casuals subculture of the 1980s for inspiration. Comprising a tracksuit, shirts, outerwear and casual trousers, the range mixes “iconic shapes and styles with modern detailing and colours”. The collection revolves around a palette of navy blue, green, black and grey, with accents of a repetitive shard print. Original Penguin’s classic checks are referenced across shirts. The long-sleeved Dave style features in a fine grid print while the short-sleeved Ned model carries an oversized green and blue check. Each piece is finished with a rubberised Original Penguin logo, created exclusively for the collaboration. Scott’s birthday collection is not its first joint project with the American brand – the two first partnered on a 15-piece sportswear line in SS12. The Original Penguin x Scotts collection is available exclusively at Scotts Menswear stores and online. Prices start from £29 for t-shirts, £49 for joggers, £59 for hoodies and £99 for outerwear.
