Made In England Label Releases SS14 Range
Percival’s SS14 collection maintains a timeless approach with an eccentric twist, according to owner Chris Gove.
The new range consists of everyday wardrobe staples including t-shirts, shirts, trousers and jackets, which fuse classic British style with hints of Americana.
Gove, who also operates as a designer at the firm, told FashionBeans: “We’re constantly being inspired by texture whatever it may be, this summers shirting inspiration was the inside of envelopes and old postcards.”
“Using subtle monotone moiré textures and nostalgic 1950’s postcards led us to Hawaiian prints and detailed jacquards, there’s also a few plain brushed cotton Oxfords for when you’re trying to put a serious face on,” he added.
Among the pieces available is a casual navy varsity jacket with embroidered logo. A light summer jacket is also on offer, produced in tan with front panel detailing.
Pattern has been applied to several pieces, coming in the form of subtle or all-over prints. One stand-out short-sleeved shirt carries a horizontal zig-zag design running across it in navy and yellow tones.
Launched in 2010, Percival centres on three principles: lasting and considered design, local production and quality workmanship.
With this in mind, most of the garments are manufactured within the UK, in London. Wherever pieces are made abroad, production is kept within the EU.
Percival’s London flagship store in Soho’s Berwick Street houses the brand’s design studio, with items created in the basement below.
Prices for the line start at £40 for t–shirts with outerwear going up to £300. SS14 is available now in store and online at percivalclo.com
