Some things are just too good to be left in the past. Bringing the 1970s back in full force, Nudie Jeans and Liberty London have teamed up for an über-exclusive collab to celebrate the British department store’s 140th birthday.
‘Past Just Got Present’ is a meeting of retro style and modern ingenuity. Using a paisley print discovered in the Liberty archive, Nudie Jeans has created a unique three-piece collection. The range marks the first time a Liberty Arts Fabrics print has been fully illuminated on denim, bringing together both the past and present and the best in Anglo-Swedish design.
Laser printing was used to apply the print to three separate canvases: a Turkish dry denim with comfort stretch, a washed Japanese selvedge and – for all you Midnight Cowboys – a one-of-a-kind bootcut cow leather. It’s tanned using vegetable and wood tannins, to give the leather the appearance of denim. Each pair of these Funky Ben trousers are packaged in handmade, hand-painted boxes and, like the other pieces in the collection, are unisex.
