Sneakerboots are now officially A Thing. And frankly, we wonder why it’s taken this long for them to gain traction. The poor hypebeast, whose look isn’t suited to stomping around in hikers, still needs something to help him navigate from his mum’s house to the Supreme queue and back again when there’s snow on the ground. And the bastard child of a running shoe and a mountain boot keeps him upright, while still looking fire beneath stacked denim. (Related: The rise of the luxury trainer) Though trainer experts have led the charge, boot brand Timberland’s getting in on the action now as well. And wisely, it’s tapping up the experts – ie you – to help craft something that doesn’t just look like a building site shoe with a comfy sole strapped on. The brand’s teamed up with crowdsourcing dons Betabrand to survey which of three styles should make it to final production and wind up in Timberland’s AW17 collection. You can pick between the slick Urbanization, the rather more rural Neorganic, or the slightly baffling Modern Nomad. Frankly, we’re kind of wishing all three hit the factory line.
