High Street Chain Rolls Out Menswear Staples
Uniqlo has revealed its casual wear line-up for SS15 under the LifeWear arm of its brand. Comprising a wide selection of wardrobe staples, the menswear share of the collection covers everything from suiting and hoodies to chinos and technical outerwear. The range’s palette revolves around neutral colour options, with navy blue, white and beige pieces paired with accents of red and subtle spot and stripe prints. Select garments utilise its existing HeatTech, AIRism and Ultra Light Down technologies, expanding its range of “athleisure” products. New technology has also been added, with a navy brass-buttoned blazer made from a stretch fabric, skinny-fit jeans crafted from alternative materials to make them 20 per cent lighter than average denim, and select performance tops designed to be water resistant. In addition to previewing its LifeWear offering from the coming season, Uniqlo has also announced a selection of menswear projects in the last quarter. September saw the brand relaunch favourites from its collaborative collections with German designer Jil Sander, as well as a small hoodie collection with American producer Pharrell Williams. Across the year, the Japanese fashion retailer also teamed up with American designer Michael Bastian and Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Uniqlo’s spring/summer 2015 LifeWear collection is set for release early next year, with price points yet to be revealed. Its current LifeWear range is available now online and in stores, with prices starting at £12.90 for HeatTech pieces.
