American retailer J.Crew has revealed a new designer collaboration for spring/summer 2015.
Its latest teammate comes in the form of one of Japan’s oldest shoe brands, Onitsuka Tiger, which has offered up its classic Colorado 85 trainer silhouette for a preppy makeover.
As the shoe reaches its 30th birthday this year, having being hailed as one of the world’s first trail-running shoes, J.Crew has given it a vintage-style makeover, complete with US-inspired pops of colour.
The ‘Classic Gravel’ iteration combines an off-white canvas with soft grey suede accents, finished with red and blue side stripes, while the ‘Shadow Grey’ option comes in washed-out grey shade, complemented by teal, orange and brown highlights.
Not only are the two colourways are exclusive to J.Crew, but the US label has another accolade to be proud of – it is one of only three retailers that have ever collaborated with the Japanese brand, and is the first to come out of the US.
The J.Crew x Onitsuka Tiger Colorado 85 trainers are available now at jcrew.com, priced £95 each.
