It’s time once again to let you know about all the stories and new launches we couldn’t feature this week in easy to digest news bullets. This week we have new collections from high fashion collections at Oki-ni, new season Penguin available at Urban Outfitters, an outfit of the week by myself and MyWardrobe and some great footwear at Ted Baker and ASOS. We also have news of a massive sale going on at Topman, with plenty of on trend items to be had at a discount.
So it should be a good one…
High Fashion at Oki-ni
So this week we start with new high fashion ranges and limited editions to come out of Oki-Ni. They have released some great new collections over the last week with examples coming from Chronicles of Never, Fred Perry 100 and Lee Originals Westerner. Chronicles of Never clothing has an androgynous, unisex signature within all of their designs and so is thriving within the world of high fashion at the moment. I particularly love the footwear they are producing for the season and some of the more basic jeans and jackets:
Lee Originals have just released a new Westerner range which really has it’s roots within the whole American Cowboy era. They have produced some great new trousers and shirts in colours like beige, green and khaki which you may remember is also massively hitting the Military Trend from our article earlier this month. Take a look below at some stand out pieces from the range:
Finally we come to Fred Perry at 100. In order to celebrate the centenary of Fred Perry’s birth, Fred Perry and Raf Simons have collaborated to create a modern interpretation of a classic Fred Perry outfit worn by Fred circa 1947. Raf Simons is massive in the world of high fashion so this should go down with fans of Fred Perry, the world of high fashion and exclusive collectors alike:
Urban Outfitters Penguin Range
Urban Outfitters have this week received their new collection of Original Penguin by Munsingwear and they have a bit of a cult following over here so I thought I would show you some of the range. This casual leisure range has been seen on Beckham, Brad Pitt and the like over the past few years, so you will be in good company. For those that don’t know:
“Original Penguin is a true American classic with roots dating back to the 1950s and its humble beginnings in an underwear factory in Minnesota. Worn by the celebrities of the time – Clint Eastwood, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin – Pete the Penguin became famous the world over, not just as a humorous logo, but for what he symbolises; a now iconic leisure wear brand.”
This Week’s Outfit – MyWardrobe
This week MyWardrobe and I collaborated to create a really simple but chic outfit. The specification was that it had to be created using Burberry’s new Autumn/Winter collection and it was really easy to do due to the fact there were so many statement jackets to choose from. We went with an amazing new Duffle coat which looks even more amazing in the flesh than the images below can do justice.
Team this with classic straight blue jeans and a beautiful cashmere grey knit and you have a simple but effective look that will work in the colder seasons. I threw in the man bag at the end and picked a great D&G version which can be used as a shopper or over the shoulder. In this instance I would match the shoes with the bag colour and pick either a great dress boot or brogue to be right on trend.

All Saints New Releases
All Saints is really popular clothing with the vast majority of our readership so I have to give it a little shout out each week. This time we are looking through the new collection and seeing more photoprint t-shirts, a Gilet(!), asymmetric detailing (like zips) on knitwear and hoodies and some great new hunting boots that look slightly shorter than the military variety and might appeal to those who wanted something more subtle in their outfits in comparison.
The whole collection is VERY dark this year, and there are a lot of blacks featured heavily. Remember to mix up your colours and use blacks in order to create a contrast with some bold statement pieces. They do some brilliant bold colour ways in their polo’s, some statement check shirts and bright graphic print tees that would look good matched with dark jeans or jackets.
Ted Baker Chelsea Boot
We have been over the fact that the Chelsea Boot is making a big comeback for Autumn/Winter in our trend article and look book. Ted Baker have just released this great version that is slightly modified and brought bang up to date. Wider side elasticated panels I think make it stand out in comparison to everything else on the market and it just seems to put the shoe into proportion even better than before. I thought it deserved it’s own little section so see below for the pictures:
ASOS Loafers Range
ASOS sent news of some great new tasselled loafers that they have got in. Tasselled loafers are a trend that are picking up within the fashion circles right now with people looking for a smarter and more individual casual look. Following on from the boat/deck shoes trend of Spring/Summer these are a great transgression into the new season. There are a mix of formal and casual varieties below for you to get your teeth into:
Topman Sale
Topman have launched their massive half price mid-season SALE so you should get there quick if you had your eye on something. There are 100′s of items reduced and it is really easy to find stuff due to the way they have split it down. Everything is reduced from T-shirts to Cardigans to footwear and accessories so you better get there quick because it is absolutely flying out at the moment!

seriously tinking about getting another one soon, they are brining out a great selection week by week on the T shirts, pity most of the knitwear/Hoodies have really long sleeves this season.
Hi Ben and other readers,
I really find this site to be one of the greatest in recognizing trends and publishing exemplars for the readers. I’m Canadian and heavily influenced by the Italian manifesto of beauty and grace. I would like to see a return to 18th and 19th century style. I say be bold like the Italians and embrace this period for its greatest achievements for men- the high collar. It is a statement of power and sophistication. It is a statement of raw sex appeal. It is a trend that needs to be returned for men.
PS… Many of the “military” inspired pieces demonstrated this High collar confidence. Much appreciated
