‘Tis The Season To Be Gifted
If you believe stereotypes; women can’t read maps, old people can’t drive and men certainly can’t shop. Well, we know from the fact that so many of the FashionBeans readers are not only apt shoppers – but fashion icons – so the later certainly isn’t true.
Most of the ‘men can’t shop/won’t shop’ misconception is based around women receiving shoddy, under-thought and undervalued gifts – a crime most commonly, and most comically reserved for your dad (what do you mean you didn’t want a pneumatic drill for Christmas!?).
While us men and our shopping habits have come a long way since the previous generation (we use moisturiser now too don’t you know!), the annual festive gift hunt still poses a few problems even for the most shopping savvy gent. While the prospect of spending a whole Saturday wandering round big concrete shopping centres or boutique vintage shops might seem like a leisurely way to spend a weekend, the reality is crowded pavements, snaking queues and mobs of screaming kids. For these, and many other grumpy old man reasons I prefer to do my festive shopping online. It’s faster, it’s more convenient (you can even do it a 1am while sobering up), and 9 times out of 10 it’s cheaper too.
So because I want this Christmas to be an argument, strop, and disappointment free Christmas for all FashionBeans readers and their wives, girlfriends, sisters and mothers, I’ve put my knowledge of the hair and beauty industry to the test and picked out some of the most sought after gifts available on the market. There’s something for the girly girls, something for the make up lover and something for the beauty queen; but more importantly, they’re all designed to put you well and truly in the good books come December 25th! Happy shopping.
Under £10
Working as perfect stocking fillers and ideal additional gifts, this range of products under a tenner features the quaint, the cute and the sought after – all without breaking the bank.
£10 – £25
Now we start to take things up a gear, which for some of you may mean entering uncharted territory. But don’t panic, the price range may have gone up a notch but the offering is just as good value. You’ll see a few well known high street brands like Clarins, Crabtree & Evelyn and Elizabeth Arden, so if you know your female favours one of these brands then you’re on to a winner.
£25 – £50
This girl knows her stuff, so rather than opt for a bargain basement gift set like years gone by, surprise her with a cracker that will ensure she forgets any sub-standard gifts that have gone before. Simply select your gift, try not to make too much of a hash of the wrapping, and then revel in gift giving prowess that’ll make this Christmas one she’ll never forget.
Over £50
Not only does the lady in question like a face cream or two; she is a hair and beauty goddess. So you better match her expectations with a gift of real luxury. Yeah some of the prices are getting near (and in some cases exceeding) the £100 mark, but for brownie points that will last well into the New Year, these gifts make Santa himself look like an amateur.
So there you have it guys, fool proof health and beauty gifts for the ladies in your life. We have given you 3 weeks notice in order to help you out this time, so please try and not wait until the last minute AGAIN – you promised yourself never to let it happen again last year remember?

Bashmore – We have actually done the exact same thing for the ladies today based around grooming gifts. Going to try and get something up with ideas for fashion Christmas presents but it is based on personal preference so much that it is slightly harder to do!
