French footwear brand Kickers have given us a glimpse of their latest spring/summer 2012 collection. Established in 1970, the brand first became popular in Britain with the younger generation of the 1980s.
Their latest collection is predominantly aimed at people in their twenties/early thirties, and features a mix of different styles – ranging from boat shoes, to desert and work wear boots – all featuring the traditional Kickers white chunky sole.
The collection incorporates a nice mix of fabrics, with plenty of canvas and leather combinations being utilised, as well as soft nubuck and suede.
The key item that caught our attention here at the FashionBeans office is the Nevermind Boatshu. What stood out is the interesting approach to the design that Kickers have taken – its silhouette seems to be a fusion between a boat shoe and a casual loafer. The end result is a piece of footwear that incorporates classic boat shoe side detailing and the loafer’s tassel like trim to the front.
