Moncler V Markam Patchwork Gilet
Hiroki Nakamura has teamed up with outdoor specialist Moncler once again – this time to release the Markam Patchwork Gilet for fall 2011.
The inspiration behind the Patchwork Gilet comes from the popular Moncler Cheval Gilet; incorporating its classic silhouette but giving the overall appearance a much more contemporary feel that is ideal for the 2011 market.
The gilet comes in a block of four colours, which includes black, green, blue and beige. The use of bold colours for the different sections of the gilet not only inspires its ‘patchwork’ name but also hits the popular colour blocking trend, which has been very popular within both men and women’s fashion this year.
Other details include:
- Snap button closures.
- Goose Down filled for extra warmth.
- Moncler branding on the chest.
- Heavy weight zip.
- Elasticated waistband.
- Two zip and snap button closure hand warmer pockets.
With the popularity and plethora of options available in men’s gilets at the moment, this particular piece stood out to us here at FashionBeans as it seems to break away from the bog standard plain or two tone designs that have infiltrated the high street. This is a really creative and playful take that is bound to garner attention, without being over the top or garish with its colour choices.
The gilet is here to stay this season whether you like it or not. So for reasons on why you should own one and tips on how to pull it off check out Sean Walsh’s article on gilets for the autumn/winter season.
