Season after season Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane releases bold, bright and innovative designs – and judging by his latest spring/summer 2012 offerings, he has stayed true to form with yet another colourful, rainbow inspired collection.
The collection is comprised of both clothing and accessories, with a heavy focus on printed t-shirts and vests. Your cannot fail to notice the vivid statement designs and prints that have been utilised on these garments.
Kane has paid great consideration to his choice of materials, utilising softer sheer modal fabrics for pieces such as the rainbow coloured t-shirt and vest – allowing the striking bold colour palette to really stand out.
One of our favourite pieces from the collection has to be the Multi Cable t-shirt, with its all over electrical wire print. At the right angle this piece almost looks 3D!
This whole range is without a doubt eye catching – but as much as we love to add an injection of colour to our outfits during the warmer summer months, we recognise that the majority of this collection will not appeal to everyone. It is definitely suited to the more expressive and confident of readers. However, subtler items from the collection – such as the engine print t-shirt or the cashmere scarf – shouldn’t be disregarded so quickly, as these are pieces that can be incorporated within your existing wardrobe and looks effortlessly, to show some desired individuality and personality.
