It seems as though prints and patterns have got a stranglehold on men’s fashion at the minute; with a whole host of new patterned releases invading stores on a daily basis.
The latest we have been notified of comes from a collaborative effort between footwear giants Converse and Finnish company Marimekko.
Marimekko – who are renowned in the industry for brightly coloured, printed fabrics – apply their distinctive patterns to both fashion and textiles. As soon as we heard about this joint project, we knew the end result was going to be unique – and it certainly is. Marimekko have incorporated a striking all over print onto the ever popular Converse Jack Purcell trainer silhouette.
The print utilised is a simple floral design, which resembles classic Hawaiian prints and patterns. It is an ideal graphic to exploit this season, as Hawaiian prints are set to be a key trend this coming spring/summer. [Ed: Full report coming soon on FashionBeans]
Other details include: The iconic ‘smile’ , white laces, thick rubber sole and a matching cotton drawstring bag to carry them round in.
Similar to any statement item, try pairing with neutral, simple pieces to avoid making the mistake of pattern overload!
