September has arrived, along with a certain cool chill in the air, resulting in everyone reaching for their trusty sweater or searching for the perfect autumnal wardrobe. Personally, I love everything the autumn season has to offer; a colour palette filled with deep reds and forest greens, cosy knitwear and experimenting with new warm prints.
With this in mind, D.S.Dundee’s autumn/winter 2012 collection does not disappoint. You too will be welcoming this season with opening arms after witnessing the designs of the luxury menswear brand.
Keeping true to their inspiration of Britain’s traditional country style, the photo shoot was set in the Scottish Highlands. The rough river rapids crashing against the rocks, misty gloomy skies and fierce blowing winds create an authentic and harsh reality of British weather – an area certainly not suitable for idyllic country picnics. D.S.Dundee’s collection can easily resist all of nature’s elements, keeping fashion and quality as a high priority.
The Scottish textile history and dressing British gentleman in a similar, yet modern, way to our grandfathers are key to the success of their collection. A traditional tweed jacket over a crisp white shirt and knitted cardigan combined with a pair of beige casual trousers is classic and smart. However, slipping on a pair of wellies – dramatically creasing the trousers whilst stepping into a lake full of lily pads – brings a more contemporary feel to the outfit. Cord trousers, warm jumpers and casual jackets are pushed as the essential items for the autumn season.
So are you ready to brave the Scottish Highlands no matter what weather conditions arise? Remember your wellies, as there are many lakes and rivers to wade through first!
