Happy Socks Launch Tokyo Store
Folllowing on from the success of their existing stores in Stockholm, Shanghai and London, unique sock manufacturer Happy Socks have once again expanded their brand, this time setting up shop in Japanese department store PARCO.
With the department store located at one of Tokyo’s most notorious shopping areas, Shibuya, it has been said that Parco Shibuya expects 7.5 million visitors per year and a total sales amount of 16 billion JPY per year. With predictions like that, combined with the brand’s continuous expansion plans, it’s easy to see why this particular location was chosen to house the brand.
“Japan is the perfect country for true retail experience, the details you learn from this market will be very useful in our continued expansion of own operated retail. It is therefore logically we selected Tokyo to open our latest store. The move is a great test before our next target: America!”
Mikael Söderlindh, CEO.
The 21 m2 store store employs three staff members and is cohabiting with the world renowned (and Japanese favourites) Comme Des Garcons and Junya Watanabe, amongst others.
The store itself has been kept simple, with vibrant coloured floors and storage providing the explosion of colour that you would expect from the brand. The actual sock display keep to a simplistic design and are sat against plain white backdrops, in order to let the colourful and playful designs of the socks to shine through.
One not to be missed, this stand out store is a true sock heaven!
