Herschel Supply Co. Autumn/Winter 2012 Preview

One hundred years of manufacturing has seen the Herschel Supply Co. transported from the business of barrel making to that of bags and backpacks. A steady growth of sales, observed over the last few years, is a direct result of their desire to bring quality built products to the marketplace. Their reputation continues to flourish as new shapes and colour ways are added to their ever expanding range.

This new collection for autumn/winter 2012 consists largely of earthy tones; with shades of brown, brick red and highlights of orange and yellow. Running with this theme, a desert camouflage luggage set takes centre stage – an attentive twist on the regular camo print that is set to be a big hit this spring/summer. Stripes are a new pattern that Herschel have experimented with here, with the mix of black with stone, yellow with pale green and red with navy being both thoughtful and seasonal.

Herschel are purveyors of a classic look and shape that until recently was quite difficult to find at a reasonable price. Block colours, leather accents and the classic logo are placed on almost all they’re products; a tradition of quality that has undoubtedly influenced their increasing popularity. With a demand that sees many of their most popular products sell out within months (I wanted their ‘Pop Quiz’ backpack last year and was too late), I firmly believe that they will soon command a brand value to rival that of Eastpak.
