Illesteva Sunglasses Collection
I’ll skip the speech about the weather and unpredictability; enough conversations have been held about that between old women in the doorway of Tesco, especially the ones that know I’m in a hurry to go somewhere – you know who you are. Instead let’s discuss the latest addition to the Oki-ni family, which comes in the form of Illesteva sunglasses.
For those unbeknown to the Illesteva brand, it was founded in 2009 and specialises in luxury eyewear. To get a feel of their reputation, they have more celebrity followers than the illuminati – in the likes of GaGa, Beyoncé and MIA to name a few.
The collection for Oki-ni includes the Lenox half and half, Leonard Matte Tortoise, Leonard Matte Marmor and finishes with the Marco Leopard sunglasses. Retailing between £115 – 175, they fall in the usual price bracket for high-end shades, but you definitely get something a little unusual in the design. Designers and co-owners of the Illesteva brand, Daniel Silberman and Jus Ske, say they take inspiration from new shapes and materials such as bamboo, titanium and natural buffalo horn.
