Bruce Wayne, one of the world’s most popular fictional philanthropists-come-vigilantes, is known for his love of fast cars, skin-tight suits and punching of deranged clowns in the face. However, one thing you probably don’t think about when his name is brought up, is the fantastic designer watch on his wrist.
Nonetheless, ultra-luxurious Swiss manufacturers Jaeger-LeCoultre have released a limited edition series of Reverso chronographs with the logo of Christopher Nolan’s final Bat-epic, The Dark Knight Rises, engraved on the caseback – made visible only when the watch face is reversed.
The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale as the eponymous hero and also featuring perennial fashion icon Joseph Gordon-Levitt, was released in the UK on July 20th to critical and commercial acclaim. In the movie, Bale wears a JLC Grande Reverso Ultra Thin “Tribute to 1931” watch. He also sported a similar Reverso model in the first of the trilogy; Batman Begins.
The Reverso timepiece is designed to withstand incredibly strong impacts, making it both stylish and long lasting, much like the hero its release celebrates.
Jaeger-LeCoultre previously released a limited edition series of Reverso Grande Taille pieces to mark the release of the 1995 Batman entry, Batman Forever, also featuring an engraving of that particular incarnation’s logo.
You will be able to find the Batman tribute watch at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques in London, Geneva, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. If you are a serious fan, you better hurry, as the exclusive nature of these pieces may make them a rarer sight than the caped crusader himself.
