World famous jeans brand Lee release their newest ‘Lee 101′ collection, a sub-line that has continued to be utilised as a celebration of the brand’s history. Lee 101 pays tribute to over 100 years of craftsmanship and quality by only using premium fabrics and selvage denims. The spring/summer 2012 range has been inspired by the preppy years of the 1960s era, but hardy work wear is also present, meaning this is a collection that could easily transcend through to AW12 as well.
Sharp silhouettes, neat cuts, and slim flit garments have become the norm within menswear over the past few years, and the Lee 101 line has considered this – iconic pieces, such as their tailored trousers and hued shirts, take centre stage, with the collection allowing you to create a multitude of looks that are all “sussed and proper.”
Slacks paired with rich knits and blazers teamed with knee-skimming shorts are just two examples of the looks that can be created. Of course, denim hasn’t been forgotten. The jeans are in a league of their own, coming in a variety of finishes such as vintage ‘home laundry looks’ and natural indigo classics; a particular highlight being the 5 dip natural indigo selvage.
Other key items include checked shirts, denim jackets and linen/seersucker tailoring. Overall, this is a sharp and smart, yet rugged and American-fuelled collection.
