As if London needed to be any more attention-seeking in the year of 2012, a brand new menswear initiative is about to be launched. London Collections: Men is designed to be an extension of Men’s day at London Fashion Week but solely dedicated to showcasing and celebrating British creativity and commercial importance in the fashion world.
The launch event will be hosted by none other than HRH The Prince of Wales, and with a list of brands and designers ranging from Paul Smith to Savile Row to Mr. Hare, the three day platform has all the right material to be a real success. If the promotional videos and images are anything to go by, our wishful thinking is soon to be realistic praise.
Pushing the British theme in particular, Topman Design has invited five of the newest and hottest designers to create unique t-shirts exclusively for them. Set to go on sale from 1st June, James Long, Katie Eary, Lou Dalton, Sibling and Christopher Shannon have drawn inspiration from the theme ‘Menswear Rules Brittania’ to create their original pieces. The attempt to roust that patriotic sensation will cost you around £18, with £5 of each going towards helping budding designers through The London Fashion Council’s Princess of Wales charitable trust.
London Collections: Men will be running at The Hospital Club, London from 15th – 17th June 2012.
